Maria Rambeau could return in the ‘Multiverse of Madness’

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the absolute creative fertile ground for Marvel Studios. Not only is there the mystical aspect of Doctor Strange and his sorcery coming in hot off the heels of Spider-Man: No Way Home, but with a name like Multiverse of Madness, there is simply an infinite number of possibilities and directions this story can go with. And with an infinite number of possibilities, there is an infinite number of possible cameos to come along with it. And one interesting detail leads me to believe we could be seeing the return of Captain Marvel scene-stealer, Maria Rambeau.

Lashana Lynch, the actress responsible for bringing Maria to life in the MCU, has been gaining lots of traction in Hollywood as of late. Her most recent project, No Time to Die, has obtained rave reviews regarding her performance, so it would be no surprise that Marvel would be interested in having Ms. Lynch return to her role as Maria Rambeau. One key factor that leads me to believe Ms. Lynch will return comes from an additional cast listing from IMDb. Thom Jones, the dialect coach who’s directed Ms. Lynch in Captain Marvel, as well as her future role in The Marvels, has been listed as part of the production team for the Multiverse of Madness.

While it is not a direct confirmation, it is fun to speculate its possibilities. Could Maria be portraying a variant of the one we know, where she obtained the powers rather than Carol Danvers? Or could it be something more?
