This past week, Marvel Studios pulled back the curtain on their upcoming Disney+ projects in their Marvel Studios’ 2021 Disney+ Day Special. We were able to relive our favorite moments from the past Disney+ shows like WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, and What If…?, while also looking ahead at what’s to come. Marvel also unveiled Hawkeye, Moon Knight, She-Hulk, and more during the special, but one program, in particular, caught our attention, Ms. Marvel. The story of Kamala Khan, delayed until 2022, gave us an inside look at what we can expect from the upcoming Disney+ show, including a first look at the antagonists of the series. A source close to production got in touch with us here at Movie Scope, and we can exclusively reveal that the antagonists teased during the Disney+ Special were none other than the Clan Destine.
In Marvel Comics lore, the Clan Destine are a family of super-powered individuals, descendants from the marriage of Adam Destine, the father figure of the family, and Elayth, a Djinn. The pair had many children and have lived for centuries on earth after Elayth granted her husband the gift and curse of immortality. Why the Clan-Destine are so interested in Kamala is a very crucial component of the show. It appears as though Marvel Studios seems keen on altering Kamala’s Inhuman origin for her MCU debut, and rather than make her an Inhuman, Kamala may be a Djinn herself. Perhaps she is a descendant of one of the members of this long line of super-powered individuals. However, all of that remains to be seen when the show debuts in Summer 2022 on Disney+.
